“motherland” presents as an examination of diaspora and its accompanying mythologies–specifically the acts of violence and care. It asks us to reconsider, and recenter our mythologies to advocate the importance of care. Then, in an era of considerable mass movement, it asks how can we approach care from a global perspective to make sure not only is our individual health respected, but also that of the community we reside in and land we reside on.
